I paid for a Premium license but still see the Lite version

If you purchased a Premium license but are still seeing the Lite version, it's likely because our extension has not yet tied the email you're logged in with to the email you purchased the Premium license with.

There are a few steps you can take to help Screencastify recognize you as Premium user and upgrade your extension more quickly.

Step 1: Sign out and in of the extension

If you recently purchased your license (i.e. in the last day or so), we recommend signing out of the extension and back in again. 

  1. Open the extension's Main Menu
  2. Click "Sign Out"
  3. Click "Sign In"


Make sure that the email you're signed in to the extension with is the same one that you purchased your license with.

Step 2: Restart Chrome

If that doesn't work trying restarting Chrome. Sometimes Chrome needs a fresh start to reload all of the extensions you are using.

Step 3: Check your license assignment

If you're still seeing our Lite version, you can double check which email your license is tied to:

  1. Visit https://www.screencastify.com/user/update_license
  2. Ensure that the email listed under Manage Licenses is the correct one. If not, you can change it here and click "Save".
  3. Whether or not you changed the email address, sign out and back into the extension and check if it's been updated to Premium

Step 4: Restart your computer

As a final measure please restart your computer, as this may remove whatever is blocking the license from syncing to your email address.
